SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. — One of Kentucky's most iconic bands is coming to Scottsville.
NorroFest has announced that The Kentucky Headhunters will headline the 2026 festival on Saturday, October 17, at Dugas Park in Scottsville, joined by acclaimed bluegrass supergroup Wood Box Heroes and celebrated Nashville vocalist Jonell Mosser for an unforgettable day of Kentucky music.
The announcement marks the biggest lineup in the festival's history and continues NorroFest's mission of honoring the legacy of Allen County native and legendary songwriter, producer, and music executive Norro Wilson, whose influence helped shape modern country music through artists including Reba McEntire, Kenny Chesney, Shania Twain, George Jones, Tammy Wynette, and Charlie Rich.
"For years, we've worked to build NorroFest into an event worthy of Norro Wilson's legacy," said John Buchanon, Executive Director of the Allen County-Scottsville Arts Council. "To welcome The Kentucky Headhunters—one of the most influential musical groups ever to come out of Kentucky—is a milestone not only for our festival, but for our entire community."
Known for their unmistakable blend of Southern rock, country, blues, and boogie, The Kentucky Headhunters have sold millions of albums, earned multiple Grammy Awards, and remain one of the Commonwealth's most celebrated musical exports. Their appearance at NorroFest represents a rare opportunity to see Kentucky music legends perform in an intimate outdoor setting.
Returning to NorroFest after an unforgettable performance in 2025, Wood Box Heroes bring together an all-star lineup of award-winning musicians whose careers span bluegrass, Americana, country, and rock. Their musicianship and high-energy performances have made them one of the festival's most requested returning acts.
Opening the day is Jonell Mosser, one of Nashville's most respected vocalists. A longtime collaborator with artists including Rodney Crowell, Vince Gill, Delbert McClinton, and many others, Mosser is renowned for her soulful voice and decades of influence throughout the Americana and country music communities.

Dugas Park Announces Opening of New Mountain Bike Trail
Scottsville, KY — Dugas Park is proud to announce the opening of its new mountain bike trail, marking an exciting step forward in the park’s continued growth as a destination for outdoor recreation in South Central Kentucky.
The new trail offers approximately 1.5 miles of rideable terrain designed for beginner to intermediate riders, as well as those simply looking to enjoy a new way to experience the park. The trail winds through wooded areas and natural landscape, providing a quiet, approachable introduction to mountain biking in the region.
A grand opening will take place on Saturday, April 18 at Dugas Park at 12 PM during the Jacksonian Festival. The event will include a brief ribbon cutting and a group ride, with local riders and supporters invited to attend.
“This is a starting point,” said Shannon Weaver, Dugas Park Executive Director. “We’re building something that will continue to grow over time. Our goal is to create a place where people of all experience levels feel welcome to get outside and explore.”
The project has been supported by local partners, volunteers, and members of the regional mountain biking community, including the Kentucky Mountain Bike Association (KYMBA). Their involvement has helped ensure the trail is both accessible and aligned with broader trail development efforts across the state.
While the current trail system offers a shorter ride, future expansion is already underway. Plans include additional mileage and continued improvements that will further establish Dugas Park as a regional outdoor destination.
Visitors are encouraged to explore the new trail, enjoy the park’s existing amenities, and stay tuned for upcoming events, including the park’s summer music series, Fireworks in the Park and Norrofest in the fall.
