Dugas Park Turns Up the Volume with
2026 Summer Nights Music Series
Free live music, food trucks, and open-air evenings debut at the park amphitheater
Dugas Park is turning up the volume this summer with the launch of the 2026 Summer Nights Music Series — a brand-new outdoor concert experience designed to bring live music, food trucks, and community together in one unforgettable setting.
Taking place monthly from May through August, the free series will transform the park amphitheater into a laid-back destination for music lovers, families, and visitors looking to spend summer evenings outdoors. Shows begin at 6:00 PM, with guests encouraged to bring lawn chairs, coolers, and settle in for a night of live regional music beneath the trees.
Summer Nights was created to give Scottsville a fresh way to gather — blending the natural backdrop of the park with the energy of live performance, local food vendors, and the easy rhythm of summer nights.
The new series expands on Dugas Park’s mission to create meaningful outdoor experiences that encourage connection, recreation, and community gathering. Set within the park’s amphitheater, Summer Nights offers a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere where guests can enjoy music in a scenic natural setting.
“It’s summer. Grab a lawn chair. Bring a cooler. Let’s rock,” said Shannon Weaver, Executive Director of Dugas Park.
Admission is free and open to all ages.

Dugas Park Announces Opening of New Mountain Bike Trail
Scottsville, KY — Dugas Park is proud to announce the opening of its new mountain bike trail, marking an exciting step forward in the park’s continued growth as a destination for outdoor recreation in South Central Kentucky.
The new trail offers approximately 1.5 miles of rideable terrain designed for beginner to intermediate riders, as well as those simply looking to enjoy a new way to experience the park. The trail winds through wooded areas and natural landscape, providing a quiet, approachable introduction to mountain biking in the region.
A grand opening will take place on Saturday, April 18 at Dugas Park at 12 PM during the Jacksonian Festival. The event will include a brief ribbon cutting and a group ride, with local riders and supporters invited to attend.
“This is a starting point,” said Shannon Weaver, Dugas Park Executive Director. “We’re building something that will continue to grow over time. Our goal is to create a place where people of all experience levels feel welcome to get outside and explore.”
The project has been supported by local partners, volunteers, and members of the regional mountain biking community, including the Kentucky Mountain Bike Association (KYMBA). Their involvement has helped ensure the trail is both accessible and aligned with broader trail development efforts across the state.
While the current trail system offers a shorter ride, future expansion is already underway. Plans include additional mileage and continued improvements that will further establish Dugas Park as a regional outdoor destination.
Visitors are encouraged to explore the new trail, enjoy the park’s existing amenities, and stay tuned for upcoming events, including the park’s summer music series, Fireworks in the Park and Norrofest in the fall.
