Where Nature and Community Come Together
Explore the Park's Four Unique Areas:
Dumont Hill
Steeped in history and natural charm, Dumont Hill is the heart of Dugas Community Park. Once the site of a Civil War encampment, this treasured area now features miles of shaded walking trails, a rustic playground, rentable pavilions, and our signature open-air amphitheater. As the hub of park activity, Dumont Hill hosts many of our signature community events, seasonal celebrations, and special gatherings throughout the year—blending the past with the vibrant energy of today.
Grasslands
Breathe in the open air of the Grasslands — a sweeping landscape of Kentucky’s native meadows. Ideal for wildlife watching, leisurely walks, and bike rides, this area offers a peaceful, open-space experience. While still in development, the Grasslands will soon feature expanded trails, additional shelters, and nature-based programming. This section of the park is dedicated to native plant restoration and environmental education, inviting visitors to explore the natural beauty of Kentucky’s ecosystems.
The Farm
Rooted in rural heritage, The Farm celebrates Southern Kentucky’s rich agricultural legacy. As the largest section of Dugas Community Park, this area will become a vibrant center for learning, gathering, and community connection. It’s also the proud home of our upcoming Dog Field, giving visitors and their pups a place to run, play, and enjoy the open air. Some of our future plans include a large event barn, access to our equestrian pasture and designated horseback trails, and the Heritage Pavilion—a signature outdoor event space that will be home to seasonal markets. The Farm will also host local food experience and educational programming focused on agricultural skills, environmental sustainability, personal wellness, and stewardship of the land.
Pretty Woods
Pretty Woods, named by our park’s founder, is a tranquil forest haven. This peaceful area will feature quiet trails, scenic overlooks, a nature center, and more. It will serve as the primary entrance to Dugas Community Park and become a hub for children’s educational programming, nature-based learning, and exploration. Pretty Woods will also include community garden spaces and additional rental facilities, making it a welcoming gateway for both play and purpose.
